About Me…
I fancy myself an artist and a healer, but I am my best when I am being a mother. I hate talking about myself when asked and only put myself in the center of attention when it is of the utmost importance. So bear with me while I do my best here. By far, my greatest accomplishments are the two human beings pictured above. I never really had a yearning for a great career but I always knew I couldn’t wait to be a mother. Ayla saved me from myself. As we all know we can be our own best friend or worst enemy. My twenties were fun but full of self destruction, she gave me purpose and taught me unconditional love. She is an old soul with big beyoutiful eyes that can see right into depths of my heart. She is my best friend and the first love of my life. Cole showed me how to just be. I was trying to be perfect and just felt exhausted. He taught me how powerful it is to be present and reminded me that magic still existed. He is a lover of life with a smile that blows my heart wide open. He is my vision quester and the last love of my life. They are who I AM… the best parts of me. When I feel myself slip into my own darkness, I just think of them and put one foot in front of the other because I AM their mother.
Professionally, I have earned a certificate as a practitioner of Ayurveda from the California College of Ayurveda. I’m licensed massage therapist, reflexologist, RYT 500 hour yoga teacher/pilates instructor, Reiki Master, and last but not least a photographer.
I always wanted to be an Artist. I love getting messy and still take Art classes any chance I get. I went to Ohio State and majored in Photography. I was a wedding photographer for 15 years, but have chosen a less stressful path these days when it comes to photography. I love taking pictures for fun on hikes with friends. I love family shoots, senior pictures and capturing any four+ legged friend with fur, feathers or scales! Photography will always be one of my favorite things!
I first started practicing yoga in 2004, when I found out I was pregnant with my daughter. Yoga changed my life! I had no idea who I was and what I was becoming. I was excited and scared, laughing and crying, but mostly grateful for the practice that brought me back home to myself. I did my first first 200 hour teacher training with Marni Task in 2007, who has become my best friend, fellow traveler and life saver! I did another 200 hour teacher training with Tami Schneider in 2008, and taught at Cleveland Yoga from 2008-2014, which I still can’t believe and will forever be humbled by. I studied under many teachers for several years while traveling around the world taking pictures of famous yoga teachers. I completed Level 1 with Baron Baptiste in 2010, took many workshops with Johnny Kest, Shiva Rae, Sean Corn, Kathryn Budig, Sharon Gannon, David Life and probably more that I don’t remember.
During my first teacher training, I was introduced to Ayurveda and immediately felt drawn to it's ancient healing practices. It wasn't until 2014, after getting into a car accident that I dove deeper into Ayurveda to heal myself. During my studies, I learned how to manage my symptoms with the support of Ayurveda, coming off all medications. I am dedicated to supporting others on their journeys into healing themselves naturally. I completed my 500 hour pilates training at Club Pilates and my 300 hour yoga teacher training with Awake to My Soul in 2019. I do private yoga and pilates along with Ayurveda and Reiki sessions at my Sacred Space in Chagrin Falls. I am still taking pictures of families, kids, pets, and nature any chance I get.
Personally, I enjoy being creative. I love painting, and arts and crafts. Mostly, I just love being home and spending time with my children. I love early morning walks with my dogs Bumi and Nakona. I love listening to music while taking long drives in the country. I love reading books. I love gardening and am really good at growing wild flowers! I love the magic that surrounds my life… I have fairy houses to remind me when I forget. Enough about me… I hope to hear from you.
Candy is warm and simply lovely to work with.
"I met with Candy recently for an Ayurveda consultation. She was extremely knowledgeable about the doshas and helping me understand my own Ayurvedic profile and imbalances. She provided practical advice to help me attain more balance and is an absolute fountain of knowledge. In addition, Candy is warm and simply lovely to work with. I highly recommend her for all things Ayurveda!"
